Frequently Asked Questions
How long will installation take for sliding doors and windows?
Most installations take approximately half a day. However, depending on how many sliding doors and sliding windows, awnings, and other products are required as well as location, logistics and other factors it may take longer. This is always discussed with clients prior to manufacture and installation.
How long will it take to manufacture a set of French doors for my home?
Most manufacturing for any product takes about two to three weeks. This depends on the size and scale of the project. We always confirm all details with our clients before manufacturing begins and again before installation. Unique designs, double glazing and availability of materials can sometimes be factors.
What is a good way to compare aluminium windows prices?
We believe we offer some of the best prices for a high quality and dependable product in Melbourne. Not all window manufacturers offer aluminium windows so prices can vary. We encourage our customer to contact other firms, because we know that our reputation combined with our aluminium windows prices are seldom beaten.
Do you only supply aluminium sliding doors and windows?
We supply a large range of products made from a variety of materials. Aluminium doors and windows at great prices are merely our specialty.
How do I clean my aluminium sliding doors or window frame?
Aluminium is very easy to clean. Hot, soapy water will clean almost any grit and grime off the aluminium frames. For windows, hot soapy water will also work, or a window cleaning spray product wiped with newspaper or a specific anti-static window cloth. For stubborn marks you can try using a non-corrosive car polish. Avoid using abrasive cleaning products – they are one of the few things that can damage aluminium sliding doors.
Eagle Aluminium products comply with Australian Standard AS 2047 – but what does that really mean?
To meet Australian Standard AS2047 doors and windows must pass a number of tests. These products must continue to meet these standards and routine testing is conducted to maintain our certification. Testing includes:
- Operating Force Test – to verify that an opening sash is capable of opening and closing without undue effort
- Air Infiltration Test – the air leakage of a window is tested to ensure energy and acoustic efficiency
- Water Penetration Resistance Test – to verify that no water leaks through the window into the building
- Ultimate Strength Test – negative and positive wind pressures are applied to the window to at least 1.5 times the design wind pressure to ensure it does not fail in unusual wind conditions
